Enjoy a delicious Ginger, Apple, and Maple Mule

This is the kind of cocktail that fits right in while sitting on a big front porch watching the brightly colored leaves drifting to earth.

The delicious simplicity of this beverage is so unpretentious, you don’t need any special reason to enjoy a mug.

And yet, if you choose to serve Ginger, Apple, and Maple Mules at an Autumn party, it works well there, too.

This cocktail is delicious enough to be popular even among people who don’t really enjoy the taste of alcohol.

Don’t be surprised if they ask you what’s in it.

And if you share the recipe, you may just make them a fan of Ginger Apple and Maple Mules for life.

Ingredients you need to make a Ginger Apple and Maple Mule

Ginger Apple Maple Mule Ingredients

  • 2 oz Apple Brandy
  • 1 tsp Maple Syrup
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1-2 oz Vodka, optional
  • Ginger Beer, to top

The drink will be much stronger with the vodka, both in terms of alcohol and the drink’s flavor profile.

The brandy we used, while containing alcohol, tastes very light in the drink and it’s alcohol flavor kind of disappears.

Can I make the drink without alcohol?

A traditional Moscow Mule contains vodka.

So if you want this to be a true mule, you can add a shot or two of your favorite vodka.

But if you wish to serve the drink without alcohol, you absolutely can!

The drink will taste great with or without the vodka and brandy.

In fact, the easiest way to make this drink a mocktail is to simply omit the vodka and apple brandy and replace the volume with apple cider.

It makes a delicious mocktail – it’s a sparkling spicy cider drink that’s great to serve as an alternative to alcoholic beverages.

Can I make a low-calorie Moscow Mule?

Here’s a great low-calorie tip.

If you want to reduce the calories or your sugar intake further, Brooklyn Crafted makes a really delicious sugar-free ginger beer.

We really like it, and we haven’t been able to tell we were making a substitution when we made the drink with the sugar-free version.

We like using real maple syrup in this recipe. However, we know that it’s not always easy to find or cost effective. So pancake syrup will work too. And if you’re counting calories, or if you’re a type one diabetic like me, you can use sugar-free syrup to reduce the sugars and carbs.
