If you’re as big of a Harry Potter fan as I am, you probably also love Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

I wanted to have a little fun and create something fun for your Fantastic Beasts viewing parties.

And thus, the Fantastic Beasts Occamy Drink was born.

The Fantastic Beasts Occamy Drink

Inspired by the Occamy in Fantastic Beasts, we wanted to create a drink that captures its look.

Using Blue Curacao, Midori & some gold candy flakes helps give the drink some extra flair and helps to capture the Occamy’s sparkle.

Inspired by the Occamy’s gorgeous colors, we wanted to create a drink that captures its look in spirits.

So naturally, using Blue Curacao and Midori come to mind.

Adding in some gold candy flakes helps give the drink some extra flair and helps to capture the Occamy’s sparkle.

The drink has a super-tasty orange and melon flavor.

It’s so tasty, you may find it on the menu at the Three Broomsticks!

Since it is made with liqueurs, this drink is quite a decadent treat.

What is an occamy?

You may remember, the Occamy is one of the beasts Newt Scamander has in his suitcase while he’s visiting New York.

Occamies are beautiful, plumed, two-legged serpent like creatures with wings.

So if you’re having trouble remembering which creature the Occamy is in the movie, when you go back to watch it again, look for the humongous blue-green and purple flying snake.

That’s your Occamy.

Newt Scamander’s suitcase always kind of reminds me of a Tardis.

It must be bigger on the inside too.

And that teapot is really something!

We’re proud geeks around here, in case you hadn’t noticed.

So let’s put on the movie, make an Occamy Drink, and enjoy!blank

Ingredients you need to make the Fantastic Beasts Occamy Drink

This one is made with mini bottles, so if you’re pouring from a full -size bottle, you’ll want to use 50 mL, or about an ounce and a half, of the Blue Curacao and Midori.

Before you get started, you’ll will want to gather the following ingredients:

  • Gold candy flakes
  • 1 mini bottle Blue Curacao (blue)
  • 1 mini bottle Midori (green)
  • Sparkling water
  • 3 tablespoons pineapple juice

Make it a Mocktail instead

You can substitute blue curacao syrup for the blue curacao liqueur.

Monin makes a really nice blue curacao syrup.

In case you’re new to Blue Curacao, it’s orange flavored.

In place of the Midori, you can substitute pureed honeydew or a honeydew syrup.

We like Amoretti’s Honeydew Melon syrup for this drink if you’re not using Midori or other melon liquor.

Surprisingly, a lot of melon syrups aren’t green, but the one from Amoretti’s is green, so you can still make the drink in the Occamy’s signature colors with these two syrups.

Another alternative for the Midori is Monin’s Kiwi Syrup.

It will lend a different melon flavor, but it’s a really tasty syrup, and it goes well with the blue curacao’s flavor.

It’s also a nice shade of green.

Instructions to make the drink:

It’s really simple to make the Occamy Drink.

You’ll want to make your ice cubes ahead of time with the gold flakes floating in them to give the drink a bit of extra shimmer.

Then you just add the ice cubes to your glass, pour in your pineapple juice, blue curacao and midori and give it a gentle stir.

And there you go!
