Even if you have never liked the classic Martini, this Cinnamon Pear Martini might become your new favorite Autumn cocktail.

There is no gin or Vermouth anywhere near this Martini.

Rather, it is made from a delightful combination of Vodka, Pear Nectar, and seasonal spices.

This cocktail is right at home when the weather begins to cool.

Cinnamon Pear Martini Recipe

Enjoy a delicious Cinnamon Pear Martini anytime!

Pears are technically a summer fruit.

Like peaches and apples, however, they have such a rich depth of flavor that they can easily work in the Autumn and Winter, too – particularly when you involve delicious seasonal spices.

I also love the look of the Cinnamon Pear Martini.

When garnished with a cinnamon stick and a star anise pod, it looks so classy and festive.

This is the kind of drink that makes every occasion a party.

After all, it’s not every day that you get to enjoy some cocktails with star anise and a fresh cinnamon stick in some yummy pear nectar.

Serving for the holidays

Serving the Cinnamon Pear Martini is perfect to serve for Thanksgiving.

You can enjoy it anytime, but the flavor profile just really works as a delicious drink to serve for your Thanksgiving meal.

It tastes delicious served opposite turkey, but where it really shines is to serve it with your appetizers.

We particularly like how the flavors mix with a good goat cheese log on a cheeseboard.

It’s not a traditional aperitif, but I find that it’s really quite delicious.

It is one of my favorite vodka based holiday cocktails.

And it’s perfect to serve alongside an apple martini too.

You can make it by the pitcher easily.

You can even serve it bar style where you have either a large pitcher or even a beverage dispenser filled with the drink.

Then, you can have cinnamon sticks, star anise, and your bitters on the side so that everyone can spice their martini as much as they like.

Ingredients for a Cinnamon Pear Vodka Martini

Ingredients to Make Cinnamon Pear Martini

  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 4 oz Pear Nectar
  • 4-5 Dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Star Anise Pod
  • Optional, fresh pear slices for garnish

Can I serve the martini as a mocktail?

Yes, you can!

What you want to do is leave out the vodka of course.

You will also want to omit the angostura bitters.

Now nectar is more viscous – thicker – than juice.

So you may need to water it down a little bit since the vodka would have been doing that for you.

So I like to add a couple of ounces of ginger ale to thin out the nectar and add a touch of flavor and sparkle.

Do bitters have alcohol in them?

If you want to serve a drink with bitters in the recipe as a mocktail, you have a little something to think about.

Here’s the thing…

Bitters do have alcohol in them, but it’s less than 5% typically.

And you can always check the brand you’re using to be certain about that.

And many consider something with such a low alcohol volume used in such a small quantity to be “non-alcoholic.”

So you need to consider who you are serving as to whether or not you wish to consider a drink made with bitters to be non-alcoholic or not.

If you decide you don’t want to use them, simply leave them out.

Better safe than sorry, particularly if you’re serving someone in recovery or a child.

If the person you’re serving is neither, just ask them if they want you to add bitters.

Bitters do add flavor, but the flavor profile of this drink is really nice even without them.

If you really want a drop of orange flavor to replace what you would get from a drop or two of Angostura bitters, you can always add a drop of orange extract.

How to make a Spiced Pear Martini

In a cocktail shaker, combine the vodka and pear nectar.

Shake well.

Strain the vodka and pear nectar into a martini glass.

Add 4-5 dashes of Angostura bitters to taste.

Gently stir with a bar spoon.

Add 1 cinnamon stick and 1 star anise pod and serve.

Enjoy!

Note: If pears are in season, you may also garnish the drink with a few slices of fresh pears.

When I make this drink, I like to go a bit heavy with the bitters. It adds such delicious depth to the drink and brings a great balance to the sweet pear nectar.
