Ingredients you need to make the Blackberry Thyme Margarita Smash

  • 2 oz Tequila
  • 1/2 oz triple sec
  • 10 to 12 blackberries
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 sprigs of thyme (1 teaspoon)
  • ice

What is a sprig of thyme?

A sprig of thyme is simply a short cutting from the herb called thyme.

They are usually just about three inches long, and it’s cut fresh.

One doesn’t usually refer to dried thyme as a sprig.

While we are using the sprig as a measurement here, if you were to quantify how much is a sprig of thyme, it would be between 1/4 and 1/3 teaspoon of the herb.

How to make the Blackberry Thyme Margarita Smash

Place blackberries and lemon juice into a bowl and muddle until most of the blackberries are smashed and juicy.

Pour blackberries and juice with it into a shaker.

Add tequila, triple sec, and ice. Shake well and pour into a glass.

Top with blackberries and sprigs of thyme.

Note: When you are muddling your blackberries, you really want to smash them well.

You want to get as much juice out of them as possible.

When it’s time to pour, you may want to add a few whole raspberries not only for garnish but to put in with the drink itself for a juicy bite.
